Riders win at home

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College Equestrian team continued to dominate regional competition with a nine point win in the team's first home show of the season at the Van Lennep Riding Center.

The big win, increased Skidmore's Region lead to 31 points over Cornell University with three regular season shows remaining.

Skidmore was first with 47 points.  Reserve champion Morrisville had 38 points, two ahead of Cornell. Colgate was fourth with 34 points in the 15-team event.

Co- captain Jeffie Wilkins, was High- Point Open Rider.   It was the third time this season that Wilkins has been a double winner and has ridden off with high point honors.

"More important than the win, was the amazing team effort put in by all 31 members and the entire Riding Program staff," said Skidmore coach Cynthia Ford.  "A huge amount of work was organized and executed in order to prepare the Riding Center and the 28 horses.  It was a job well done!"
