Worcester, Mass.--The Skidmore College men's varsity four won the Petite Final at the ECAC National Invitational Championships, held May 10-11. The Thoroughbreds finished 23rd in the final men's team scoring and 19th on the women's side.  Trinity won the men's points trophy, while Ithaca claimed the women's title.
 
The men's four boat of coxswain Ron Sanchez and  rowers Jeremy Wilmot, Dave Mauer, Erik Wilson, and Art Richardson just missed a spot in the Grand Final with a fourth place finish in the first heat.   The Thoroughbreds came back strong in the Petite Final, finishing first in 7:28.395, four seconds ahead of Tulane University and a full six seconds in front of Hobart. Union was fourth and Middlebury fifth.
 
The women's varsity eight was fourth in the Petite Final in 7:13.947, just behind William Smith (7:11.383).  Coast Guard won (7:05.371) and Holy Cross was second (7:06.593).
 
The women's second varsity eight finished fifth in the Third Level Final in 8:01.494.  Wellesley won in 7:55.265.
