Ithaca, N.Y .-- The Skidmore College equestrian team won its remained unbeaten with a three-point win in the 15-team Cornell University Show held Nov. 7.
The Thoroughbreds finished first with 45 points, three ahead of Morrisville and five in front of Colgate. Binghamton was fourth (37), Hartwick fifth (35), and the host team was well back in sixth with 33 points.
After two shows, Skidmore has extended its regional lead to 24 points over Cornell.
Team captain, Elizabeth Kigin ‘10 and Flavia D’Urso '13 placed first in their respective Open over Fences classes. Intermediate over Fences rider, Julia Mazzarella ’13, competing the first time for Skidmore, brilliantly won her class.
Other blue ribbon winners were Grier Filley ’10, Amanda LaRose ’10, Maggie Luckhardt ’12, and Alexandra McGuire ’11.
Skidmore competes this weekend at Morrisville State College, November 14 & 15.
