Skidmore rowers raise $1500 for Habitat for Humanity

The Skidmore College men's and women's crews raised $1500 for Habitat for Humanity as part of the team's Fall “Row-A-Thon” held in Case Center. The event also helped support the team's spring training trip during March Break.

The event was coordinated by women's captain Maddie DeManche and men's captain Eric Bosen.

According to coach Jim Tucci, “Our crew athletes gathered bright and early in Case Center on Dec. 5. With rowing ergometers programmed and DVD projector loaded, they readied themselves for the long and arduous task, rowing 26 miles for the experienced athletes and 13 miles for the novices. More than three and a half hours later, one by one , our varsity athletes pulled their final strokes.”

The Thoroughbreds will resume after winter break, with the spring season starting in March. Skidmore will host the Liberty League Championships April 24 at Fish Creek.
