Baltimore, Md.-- Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Magazine has named Skidmore's Scott Grillo, Matt Levesque and Scott Madison Pre-Season All-American. The team was picked to finish second in the Liberty League.
Scott Grillo ’10 was named to the 2nd Team as a close defender, after receiving his second straight All-Liberty League 1st team selection in 2009. Grillo was second on the team in ground balls in 2009 with 74. Attackman
Matt Levesque ’11 and Long-Stick Midfielder Scott Madison ’11 were named Honorable Mention All-American. Levesque was an Honorable Mention USILA All-American, 1st team All-Liberty League, 1st team All-New York State and led the Liberty League in total points and goals. Madison earned 1st team All-Liberty League in 2009.
The Thoroughbreds finished 2nd in the 2009 regular season after leading the league in scoring (11.93 goals/game).
Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Magazine also selected 5 players to the Pre-Season All Liberty League 1st team; Levesque, Madison, Grillo, midfielder Cory Barkoff ’10, and goalie Flip Bongaerts ’10. Grillo, Levesque and Madison were all 1st team All-Liberty League selections in 2009, Barkoff a 2nd team selection in 2009 and Bongaerts an Honorable Mention selection.
Skidmore will open the 2010 season on February 27th at Babson College.
