Canton, N.Y. - The Skidmore College women's tennis team took second place in this weekend's Liberty League Tournament, after falling 6-3 to Vassar in the Championship match on Sunday afternoon at the Sammis Tennis Courts at St. Lawrence.
Freshman
Nataly Mendoza (San Francisco, Calif.) and sophomore
Tory Engros (Bronxville, N.Y.) each won thier singles matches for Skidmore. Mendoza won at number four singles, defeating Natalie Santiago 6-4, 6-0 and Engros beat Jennifer Ruther 6-4, 6-4 at number five singles.
Rachel Loeb (Greenwood Village, Colo.) and
Brittany Trimble (Whitefish Bay, Wisc.) teamed up to win at number three doubles, defeating Santiago/Elizabeth Anderson 8-3.
The Thoroughbreds are at Amherst on Saturday, May 1.
