Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- Skidmore College standout Alec Hoblitzell was named 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Rookie of the Year.  The talented freshman is now eligible for the ITA National Rookie of the Year award to be announced at the end of May.
 
The 11-7 Thoroughbreds were ranked 22nd nationally and played a fifth straight NCAA Division III tournament after winning a second consecutive Liberty League title.
 
Hoblitzell compiled a 10-11 record, playing between fourth and sixth singles. He earned Liberty League All-Conference honors in doubles with a 17-12 record at number one with partner Jimmy Sherpa.
