The Liberty League announced that four Skidmore College student-athletes were recognized for their performances during the past week.
Junior Kelly Blackhurst was named Offensive Performer of the Week in field hockey after posting 12 points in a pair of home victories. Blackhurst posted three goals and two assists in a 7-2 win over Castleton on Friday and came right back on Sunday with a pair of goals in a 4-0 win over Babson. The 8
th-ranked Thoroughbreds host New Paltz on Saturday, September 8 at 1 p.m.
Men's soccer freshman
Aldin Medunjanin earned Rookie of the Week honors, while senior
Brian Mitko was named to the weekly honor roll. Medunjanin scored his first collegiate goal in a 2-0 win over Lyndon State at the Plattsburgh Cardinal Classic. Mitko earned honor roll after anchoring a defense that allowed just four shots (one on goal) in a pair of shutout victories. Skidmore returns to action today as they travel to New Paltz for a 4 p.m. start.
Volleyball junior Corinne Palmer also was selected to the honor roll after the Thoroughbreds posted a 2-2 record at the Cortland State Red Dragon Classic. She was named to the All-Tournament team after posting 54 kills and 12 blocks in four matches. Skidmore returns to action on September 14 at the Union Invitational.
