TROY, N.Y. - Jonah Epstein has been named Rookie of the Week by the Liberty League, as announced by the League office, Monday afternoon.
Epstein was a key reason the Thoroughbreds went 2-0 over the weekend, as he went a combined 4-0 to help the 28th ranked Skidmore men's tennis team defeat Stevens Institute of Technology 6-3 and RPI 9-0. The Thoroughbreds are now 8-6 and sit atop the Liberty League standings at 5-0.
Against Stevens, Epstein won his number five singles match 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 and partnered with
Nick Tong for an 8-4 win at number two doubles.
Epstein was equally impressive against the Engineers, posting a 9-7 win at number two doubles and a 1-6, 6-2, 10-4 win at number five singles.
Skidmore will look to continue its winning ways, Saturday, April 20 at 12 p.m. when it hosts the University of Rochester.
