VOTE FOR RUPKUS HERE

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Sophomore guard Edvinas Rupkus of the Skidmore College men's basketball team has been nominated by HERO College Sports as the Division III Player of the Week, for his exploits during the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4.

The 'HERO of the Week' is selected by a fan vote. Voting for the award ends on Friday, Dec, 9 at 1 p.m. EST.

Rupkus, announced as the Liberty League's Performer of the Week on Monday, averaged 30 points and eight rebounds, shooting an incredible 75 percent from the field in the Thoroughbreds' 2-0 week. On Nov. 28 against The College of New Jersey, Rupkus tallied a career-high 37 points on 11-for-14 shooting from the field, adding eight rebounds. On Saturday against Houghton, Rupkus paced the Thoroughbreds with 23 points on 7-for-10 shooting, adding eight rebounds.

The Thoroughbreds (5-2) will next take on Middlebury on the road on Saturday at 4 p.m.
