MIDDLEBURY, Vt.—
Mackenzie Nelson shot 70-71—141 to earn medalist honors and lead the Skidmore College golf team to an impressive win at the 33
rd Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury College.
The Thoroughbreds shot 296-292—588 to finish three strokes ahead of the host school. Trinity College was third (311-295—606), and Rochester fourth (306-302—608) in the 22 team event.
Nelson finished two strokes in front of Middlebury's Phillippe Morin to top the field.
Teddy Badenhausen tied for third (73-71—144), Gabriel Rossi tied for eighth (74-75—149),
Walker Stroud tied for 26
th (79-75—154) and
Mitchell Campbell tied for 71
st with 80-80—160.
Skidmore begins its Liberty League title defense Sept. 24 in Baldwinsville.
