Sean Crowell named Assistant Softball Coach

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Skidmore College softball head coach Hannah Shalett Quintana has announced the hiring of Sean Crowell as Softball Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2018 season. Crowell will help the Thoroughbreds in hitting and defense, as well as coordinate recruiting efforts.

Crowell comes to Skidmore after previously serving as the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Softball Coach at Dutchess Community College, where he oversaw all aspects of the softball program. As an administrator, Crowell assisted the Director of Athletics in running all facets of the athletic department. As a head coach in the 2017 season, Crowell lead his team to a runner-up finish in the JUCO Region XV Division III Tournament. Prior to that, Crowell was a site supervisor and the Assistant Softball Coach at Dutchess Community College.

"I feel very fortunate to be able to bring Coach Crowell onto the coaching staff for the 2018 season," said Quintana. "Coach Crowell has experience as both an assistant coach and head coach, which gives him a unique perspective for the position.  He will work with both our hitters and our defense, while helping to coordinate our recruiting efforts. This year we are trying to emphasize focus, fun, and energy. I think that our team will quickly see that Coach Crowell embodies all of those things, making him a perfect fit for our group."

Crowell is a graduate of Dutchess Community College where he played two years of varsity baseball, earning his A.A. in Liberal Arts before transferring to Ithaca College. At Ithaca, Crowell played two years of JV Baseball and earned his B.A. in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing.

A native of Poughkeepsie N.Y., Crowell currently resides in Saratoga Springs.
